Montreal and Quebec City, Canada for next 3 days!

Tuesday, December 28th, 2004

In the next few hours, my mother and I will get up early in the morning and catch the first Northwest (Airbus A320, for those who care…) flight out of Sioux Falls to Montreal, Canada. We’ll be spending 2 1/2 days in Quebec City then back to Montreal to tour their beautiful historic town centers. We hope to draw inspiration for architecture, public spaces, details and stuff for building Laurent, South Dakota.

We’re still doing very well through the holidays. M.E. and I have closed on our two homes in Salem, S.D. We have begun renovating both homes before we will move in this coming February.

Happy New Year!

Also, our hearts and prayers go out to those who are experiencing extreme difficulties and losses from recent tsunamis in the Asia area. We pray that the much needed relief and aid will arrive very quickly.

Quiet, but active! We’re still working behind the scenes

Monday, December 6th, 2004

Hey everyone! It does look as if we have stopped working. Not so. We’re still working “behind the scenes”, and things are moving forward for Laurent, S.D. We hope to make some announcements within the next few weeks. Progress is being made on land negotiations as well as growing reservation list. We now have 82 families on the list.

We continue to meet with people investors, architects, planners and lawyers.

In the meantime, M.E. and I have bought two homes in Salem, S.D. A small town of 1,300 people about 3.5 to 7 miles from either two potential sites of Laurent. These homes are a great buy for us, and we hope to move there in the next two months. Some work is needed on these.

We anticipate making Salem “our home” until the town of Laurent gets built.
