Mistakes in the News
• Signers, not deaf. In some articles, Laurent, S.D. was referred to as a town for deaf. Nothing could be further from the truth because the town caters to both deaf and hearing people who uses sign language. Avoid referring to Laurent, S.D. as “a deaf town” or “town for deaf”, but rather use “town for signers”, “town for sign lanuage users” or “sign language town”.
