Tools We Use… Macs

Our office is entirely run on Apple Macs. I have MacBook Pro 15 inch, Deb Kuglitsch has MacBook 13 inch and M.E. uses PowerBook G4 15 inch. We love them because they are simple to set up, trouble shoot and maintain. There are several reports showing that the total cost of ownership over several years including maintenance and troubleshooting are the lowest with Macs.

With my MacBook Pro which now runs on Intel chips, I can actually run both Mac OS X and Windows XP at full speeds (or near full speeds, depending on how you use Windows). I have two options for running Windows XP. First one is "dual boot" option with Apple’s BootCamp software — this allows you to have your hard drive divided between Mac OS X and Windows XP. Then you can choose which system you want to run at the start up.

This option is fast. XP runs at full speed.  3D gaming, AutoCAD and you name it.

Second choice is to run Parallels Software which actually allows you to run Windows XP in a window on Mac OS X, thus literally letting you have it both ways! This is also fast, but Parallels can’t allow you to run 3D software or high end games. 2D stuff works just fine.

With prices comparable with PC manufacturers when you configure feature for feature, you just can’t go wrong with buying a Mac today.

Yep, you can have your cake and eat it.

I’m happy to read that you also use Mac’s. It’s definitely the best computer brand! I use the old PPC G5 with OS Tiger.GreetzGlen (Europe, Belgium, Flanders, Antwerp)

Yup, we love Macs. We wish more people would try them. :-) MarvinPS: Wish I could visit Belgium! I am sure it’s very beautiful there. What’s life like for deaf people there?
