Welcome to Laurent, South Dakota... a New Town for Signers

The town of Laurent, South Dakota is a vision that has been in the making for many years. Our vision is for a place where our nation's signing community can gather together to live, work, play, and worship in comfort and beauty. Laurent, S.D. is not just for deaf or hard of hearing people — the town welcomes and embraces hearing people from all walks of life who want to be a part of the sign language community. Today, Laurent exists only as a dream in the minds of its founders, and now, it is up to us to actually build this town that is accessible, friendly, economically and politically viable. A place we can proudly call HOME.

We worked with wonderful professionals of Nederveld Associates, Inc. on the master plan charrette for the new town of Laurent, South Dakota.
